The RescueMe project aims is to help build a strategy to rescue young, vulnerable girls and women from a lifestyle of abuse and prostitution.
Child prostitution rings operate in 937 municipalities throughout Brazil. It’s estimates vary, but there are between 100,000 to 2 million children and young women in the sex industry in Brazil.
The work of RescueMe hopes to will involve outreach and practical support for those trapped and most vulnerable in areas such as Villa Mimosa and other areas crippled by poverty and the sex trade in Brazil.
